Longrun Capital invests SEK 5 million in GreenIron together with FAM and Almi Invest Greentech Fund in a capital round of SEK 100 million. GreenIron has developed a patented technical solution that allows the company to extract pure steel and iron from waste, waste products and ore. GreenIron's solution is fossil free and increases the circularity in the steel and iron industry.
The funds will be allocated towards the establishment of a first production plant for fossil-free iron production at a commercial scale. GreenIron’s solution contributes to the UN's sustainability goals 9, 12 and 13, which is in line with Longrun's investment strategy.
